Booking & scheduling

5 questions

What is the fastest way to book a job?

Phone, every time. Calls are answered live during working hours and you will normally have a price range and an arrival window before you hang up. The form is the right choice for anything a day or more out, or if you would rather send photos and get a callback — but for today, ring.

How much notice do you usually need?

Less than most people expect. Single items and partial loads frequently go same-day. Garage and house clears usually want a day or two so a proper block of time can be set aside. Commercial and demolition work wants a week where possible, mostly because those need a walkthrough before a firm number exists.

Will I get a time window or a whole-day wait?

A window, and a real one. You get a two to four hour window when the job is booked and a call when we are on the way. Sitting in all day for a vague 'sometime Tuesday' is one of the things people most dislike about trade bookings, and it is avoidable.

Do you work weekends?

Saturday, yes — it is a normal working day here, 7 AM to 7 PM like the rest of the week. Sunday we are closed. Saturday morning is the single most requested slot we have, so it books out further ahead than any weekday.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

Call and we will move it, no charge and no fuss. What genuinely helps is as much notice as you can give, because a slot released the day before can be filled and one released an hour before usually cannot. There is no cancellation fee either way.

On the day

5 questions

Do I need to be home for the whole job?

Only for the start, realistically. Most people meet us to point out what goes and confirm the price, then get on with their day. For rentals, estates and commercial units we can work from a gate code, a lockbox or an agent's key once the scope and price are agreed, and we will send photos of the cleared space.

Is there anything I should do to prepare?

Very little. Do not drag anything to the curb — that is what you are hiring us for, and it is how people hurt themselves. What does help is deciding in advance what is definitely staying, and moving cars off the driveway so the trailer can get close. That is genuinely the whole list.

What if something gets damaged carrying it out?

We protect floors and door frames on the route out and disassemble furniture rather than forcing it through a doorway, because forcing things is how walls get damaged. We are insured, and in the rare case something does go wrong we will tell you rather than hoping you do not notice it later.

How long will the job take?

Single items are often under half an hour on site. A single-bay garage is two to four hours including the sweep. A packed two-car garage can be most of a day and a whole house is usually more than one. You will get a realistic estimate when the job is quoted, not an optimistic one.

Do you clean up afterwards?

The area gets swept before we leave — that is standard on every job, not an extra. On demolition work that also means picking up nails and screws and raking the footprint level. What we do not do is a full clean: this is junk removal, not a cleaning service, and we would rather be clear about the line.

What we can and cannot take

4 questions

Where do I take paint, chemicals and motor oil?

To a household hazardous waste facility — those are legally excluded from what any hauler can carry. Fresno County runs free drop-off for residents, Madera County handles it at Fairmead Landfill in Chowchilla, and Tulare and Kings counties each run their own. Call us and we will tell you which one applies to your address.

Where does my stuff actually end up?

Usable furniture and household goods go to local donation centers. Metal goes to a scrap recycler, electronics to a certified e-waste processor, mattresses through California's recycling program, and clean green waste to composting. Only what is genuinely waste reaches a licensed transfer station, and we can show you the ticket.

Can I get a receipt for donated items?

Yes, just ask when you book so we know to get one. Estates and executors need them for accounting fairly often, and some people want them for a charitable deduction. It is easy to arrange in advance and impossible to arrange after the fact.

How do I know if something contains asbestos?

You do not, from looking — it needs a test. On anything built before roughly 1980, popcorn ceilings, sheet vinyl, old floor tile, pipe lagging and corrugated roofing are all candidates. We will stop and say so if we see it, and the correct sequence is test first, licensed abatement if positive, then us for whatever is left.

Business & property accounts

4 questions

Can you provide a certificate of insurance?

Yes. Managed commercial buildings routinely require a COI naming the building entity before a vendor is allowed on site, and we can have one issued ahead of the job. Ask at quote stage rather than on the access morning, so it is in place instead of being chased.

Do you offer account billing?

For established commercial accounts, yes — net terms with itemised invoices that can be coded per property or unit. Property managers running multiple addresses generally need the cost attributable to a specific unit, and a single undifferentiated line does not survive that.

Can you set up a recurring collection?

Yes, and for anything generated continuously it is meaningfully cheaper than booking each time. A fixed day each week or fortnight at an agreed rate suits packing operations, service shops, and property portfolios with steady turnover. It also stops small accumulations becoming yard-clearing projects.

What documentation comes with a commercial job?

An itemised invoice, dated photographs of the cleared space, and disposal or weigh tickets where you need them. On tenant turnovers that also includes a list of what was removed, which is what makes a deposit deduction defensible if it is questioned weeks later.
