Overview

Furniture Removal Done Properly in Fresno, CA

Furniture is the single most common thing people call about, and almost always for the same reason: the new one is arriving and the old one has nowhere to go. The delivery company will take the mattress but not the frame, or will take neither, or charges more to haul the old one than the difference is worth. Meanwhile the sectional is in the front room and the new one is on a truck somewhere between here and Tuesday.

The physical problem is usually the doorway. A three-seat sofa that went into a room fifteen years ago has often been followed by a remodelled hallway, a narrower door, or a stair turn that was not there before. We disassemble rather than force — legs off, backs unbolted, sectionals split at the joints, bed frames broken down to their rails. It comes out in pieces and nothing gets scraped on the way.

The other half of the job is what happens after. Furniture in usable condition goes to a local donation center rather than a landfill, which is both the better outcome and, in Lynn's case, the reason we ended up offering to collect newly delivered items for her in future so she could avoid the store's delivery charge entirely. Not everything is saveable — a mattress that has been in a garage for two winters is not going to a charity — but a lot more is than people expect.

What furniture removal covers

Single items and whole rooms both work. There is no minimum, and one couch is a completely normal booking.

  • Carried from any room, including upstairs
  • Disassembly where doorways or stairs require it
  • Floors and door frames protected en route
  • Sectionals split and reassembled if you are keeping part
  • Usable pieces taken to a donation center
  • Mattresses handled through the state recycling program
  • Old item removed the same visit as a new delivery
  • Area swept once the piece is out

When to call

When It Is Time for the Old Piece to Go

New furniture is being delivered and the store will not take the old piece away.

A sofa has developed a broken frame or a sagging seat and repair costs more than replacement.

You have listed something free online three times and nobody has collected it.

A piece is too large to move alone and asking a friend has stopped being reasonable.

A room needs clearing before a paint job, a floor replacement or a viewing.

Furniture has been sitting in the garage 'in case someone wants it' for over a year.

Step by step

How a Furniture Pickup Works

  1. Tell us the piece and the room

A sectional in an upstairs bedroom and the same sectional in a garage are different jobs. Knowing which room it is in and whether there are stairs gets you an accurate price on the phone.

  2. We confirm the price on arrival

The number is agreed before anything is lifted. If we get there and it is smaller than described, the price comes down — that happens more often than the reverse.

  3. Out in one piece or several

We try intact first. If the doorway will not allow it, the piece gets disassembled properly rather than forced, and the walls and door frames stay unmarked.

  4. Donated where it can be

Anything in usable condition goes to a local donation center. What is genuinely finished goes to a licensed transfer station, and mattresses go through California's recycling program.

Pricing

Furniture Removal Prices in Fresno

Single pieces are priced per item. Once you are past about four pieces it becomes cheaper to price it as a partial load, and we will point that out rather than adding items up.

The quote covers everything

Labor, the truck, the drive and the dump fee are all inside the number you are given. There is no separate disposal charge added at the end.

Priced by volume, not by the hour

What you pay depends on how much space the load takes in the trailer. A quick job and a slow one cost the same if the pile is the same size.

The price is fixed before we load

You hear the number while everything is still on the ground. It only changes if you decide to add to the pile.

Typical price range

Single couch or sectional piece

Ground floor at the lower end; upstairs with a stair turn at the higher.

$110 – $190
Mattress and box spring set

Includes the state mattress recycling fee.

$95 – $160
Bedroom set

Bed, dresser, nightstands. Disassembly included.

$220 – $380
Full room of furniture

Living or dining room cleared. Cheaper than pricing each piece.

$300 – $550

Prices may vary depending on the condition of the item.

Ranges are typical for the Fresno area and are here to set expectations, not to serve as a quote. Access, stairs, weight and how far the load has to be carried all move the number. Call and you will get a real one.

Why us

Twenty Minutes for a Couch, Not an Afternoon

Sharon's review puts the actual experience better than a sales paragraph would: a call to say we were on the way, arrival on time, and a heavy couch loaded in about twenty minutes with the house treated respectfully throughout. That is what a furniture pickup should be — short, uneventful and over before it becomes a whole afternoon of your Saturday.

Maya's was similar from the other direction: called the same day, furniture collected in under two hours. Furniture removal is the job where responsiveness matters most, because it is almost always tied to a delivery date somebody else set. If you tell us the new sofa lands Thursday, the old one goes before Thursday.

You deal with the owner

Same person on the phone, on the quote and on the truck. Nothing gets lost between a dispatcher and a crew.

Flat price before we load

Quoted on volume, with labor and dump fees inside the number. No hourly clock running while we work.

Same-day when we have the slot

Call in the morning and there is a real chance it is gone by afternoon. Reviews mention under-30-minute arrivals.

Donated and recycled first

Usable furniture goes to a donation center, metal goes to a recycler, and only what is genuinely waste ends up at a transfer station.

“Jeremy is the best! I won't do business with anyone else! He even offered to pick up newly purchased items in the future to avoid delivery charges by the furniture store. His rates are reasonable.”

FAQ

Furniture Removal in Fresno — Common Questions

Will you come out for just one piece of furniture?

Yes, and it is one of our most common bookings. A single couch, a mattress or one dresser is a normal job with a normal price — usually $95 to $190 depending on the item and whether stairs are involved. There is no minimum load and no surcharge for a small job. Prices may vary depending on the condition of the item.

What if the couch will not fit through the door?

We disassemble it. Legs come off, backs unbolt from most frames, and sectionals separate at the joints. Recliners and sleeper sofas take a little longer because of the mechanism, but they come apart too. Forcing furniture through a door frame is how walls get damaged, so we do not do it.

Can my furniture be donated instead of dumped?

If it is in usable condition, that is where it goes by default. Structurally sound sofas, dressers, tables and chairs go to local donation centers. What will not be accepted is anything torn, water-damaged, mold-affected or stored outdoors — charities turn those away, and it is fairer to tell you that than to imply otherwise.

Do you take mattresses, and is there an extra charge?

Yes. California runs a statewide mattress recycling program with a per-unit fee, and that fee is inside the price we quote rather than added at the end. A mattress and box spring set together runs $95 to $160. They go to a facility that strips them for steel, foam and fiber rather than to landfill. Prices may vary depending on the condition of the item.

Can you take the old furniture on the day the new piece arrives?

Yes, and coordinating those is worth doing. Tell us the delivery window and we will schedule around it — usually just before, so the room is clear when the new piece comes in. One customer liked that arrangement enough that we now collect newly purchased items for her directly from the store to skip the delivery charge.

Do you charge more for furniture that is upstairs?

Slightly, and it is reflected in the range rather than added as a surprise. An upstairs piece with a tight stair turn sits at the top of the quoted band; the same piece in a garage sits at the bottom. Mentioning the stairs when you call is what gets you an accurate number over the phone rather than a revised one on the doorstep.
