Overview

Shed & Deck Demolition Done Properly in Fresno, CA

Backyard structures fail slowly and then all at once. A redwood deck built in the nineties looks fine from the patio door and has soft joists where they meet the ledger. A metal shed rusts through at the base plate and then loses its roof in the first serious wind. A fence leans a little more each winter until the neighbor raises it for a second time. None of it is urgent until it is.

This is the focused version of our demolition service: detached backyard structures, taken apart and hauled off the same visit. That covers sheds, decks, patio covers, pergolas, fencing, play structures, above-ground pools and the concrete or footings underneath them. It is the work most homeowners could technically do themselves and almost nobody finishes, because the demolition takes an afternoon and the disposal takes three weekends.

It is also the job where salvage is worth mentioning up front. Sound redwood decking, usable fence panels and metal roofing all have value, and if you want any of it kept it needs saying before the reciprocating saw comes out rather than after. We will stack whatever you want to keep where you want it.

What a structure teardown includes

Demolition and disposal booked as one job, which is what stops a flat pile sitting in the side yard for a month.

  • Structure dismantled rather than smashed
  • Debris loaded as it comes apart
  • Footings and post concrete dug out
  • Salvageable timber set aside on request
  • Nails and screws swept from the footprint
  • Ground raked level and ready for what is next
  • Concrete pad removal quoted alongside
  • Most residential structures done in a day

When to call

When a Backyard Structure Is Finished

Deck boards flex underfoot and the joists are soft where they meet the house.

The shed roof has failed and everything stored inside is now getting wet.

A fence has leaned far enough that the neighbor has mentioned it more than once.

Rot or termite damage has reached the posts rather than just the boards.

A patio cover was built without a permit and has to go before a sale closes.

A play structure has been outgrown and is now occupying the best part of the yard.

Step by step

How a Teardown Day Runs

  1. On-site quote

Small demolition is hard to price from a photo. Size, material, what it is attached to and how debris gets to the trailer all matter. The visit is free and takes about fifteen minutes.

  2. Checks before anything moves

We confirm nothing live runs through the structure and, on fencing, where the property line actually sits. Five minutes here prevents a genuinely expensive afternoon.

  3. Apart, not smashed

Structures come down in sequence and load as they go, so material is handled once rather than piled and picked up again. Anything you want salvaged is stacked aside.

  4. Footprint left clean

Post concrete comes out, fixings get swept up, and the ground is raked level. On a slab removal that means graded soil rather than a crater where a patio used to be.

Pricing

Shed and Deck Demolition Costs in Fresno

Quoted on size, material and access, always including the haul-away. These ranges cover the great majority of Fresno-area backyard structures.

The quote covers everything

Labor, the truck, the drive and the dump fee are all inside the number you are given. There is no separate disposal charge added at the end.

Priced by volume, not by the hour

What you pay depends on how much space the load takes in the trailer. A quick job and a slow one cost the same if the pile is the same size.

The price is fixed before we load

You hear the number while everything is still on the ground. It only changes if you decide to add to the pile.

Typical price range

Small shed, up to 8x10

Timber or resin. Metal sheds on a slab run higher.

$350 – $650
Large shed or workshop

Anything over about 10x12, or with a concrete floor.

$650 – $1,300
Deck, per square foot

Height, attachment to the house and railings all affect it.

$6 – $14
Fencing, per linear foot

Concrete-set posts add to it. Chain-link is cheaper than timber.

$8 – $18

Prices may vary depending on the condition of the item.

Ranges are typical for the Fresno area and are here to set expectations, not to serve as a quote. Access, stairs, weight and how far the load has to be carried all move the number. Call and you will get a real one.

Why us

Demolition and Disposal Should Be One Booking

The predictable failure mode here is splitting the job. Somebody takes the deck apart on a Saturday and the pile sits in the side yard while a hauler gets arranged. Two weeks later it has been rained on, it weighs more, the neighbors have noticed, and the quote to remove it has gone up because wet timber is heavier timber.

Booking it as one job removes that entirely. Debris never touches the ground twice, the yard is clear the same evening, and there is one number and one person accountable. The other advantage of a crew with construction experience is knowing when to stop — if a structure turns out to need a licensed demolition contractor, we say so before quoting rather than halfway through.

You deal with the owner

Same person on the phone, on the quote and on the truck. Nothing gets lost between a dispatcher and a crew.

Flat price before we load

Quoted on volume, with labor and dump fees inside the number. No hourly clock running while we work.

Same-day when we have the slot

Call in the morning and there is a real chance it is gone by afternoon. Reviews mention under-30-minute arrivals.

Donated and recycled first

Usable furniture goes to a donation center, metal goes to a recycler, and only what is genuinely waste ends up at a transfer station.

FAQ

Shed & Deck Demolition in Fresno — Common Questions

Can a shed or deck be down and gone in one day?

For most backyard structures, yes. A standard garden shed or a modest deck is comfortably a single day including the haul-off. Larger decks, structures with concrete floors and anything with difficult access can run into a second day, and we will tell you which yours is when we quote rather than at four in the afternoon.

Do I need a permit to demolish a shed or deck?

Usually not for a small detached structure, but it depends on size and whether it was permitted when built. Fresno and Clovis both set thresholds, and anything attached to the house is more likely to need one. Check with your building department first — and if a permit is required, that is generally a sign the job belongs with a licensed demolition contractor rather than with us.

Can I keep some of the timber?

Yes, and say so before we start rather than after. Sound redwood decking, usable fence panels and metal roofing all get set aside and stacked where you want them. It occasionally reduces the price a little, since it is less material going over the scales.

Do you remove the concrete post footings?

Yes, and it is included in the quoted price for fencing and most structures. Leaving footings in the ground is the shortcut that causes trouble later, when whoever installs the replacement hits them. If there is a full concrete pad under a shed, that is quoted separately because it is a different scale of work.

The fence is on a shared boundary. Does that matter?

It matters quite a lot, and it is worth sorting before we arrive. A boundary fence is usually a shared responsibility, and taking one down without the neighbor knowing creates a problem no amount of good work fixes. Have the conversation first. We are happy to work to whatever you agree, including leaving posts in place if that is the arrangement.

What if the shed roof is old corrugated sheeting?

We stop and tell you. Older corrugated roofing and siding on structures from before about 1980 can contain asbestos cement, and it needs testing before it is disturbed. We are not an abatement contractor and we will not break it up and load it. A test is inexpensive relative to the alternative, and we would rather delay a job than create that problem.
